Corey and Candace's wedding day was a beautiful and memorable affair, despite a few unexpected weather-related changes. The support of their loved ones made their wedding day truly special, I loved being able to capture how much their family and friends truly loved them. Let's delve into the details of their fall wedding and the delightful surprises that unfolded throughout the day.
Despite Candace's initial desire for an outdoor wedding, the weather had other plans. With mostly cloudy skies and rain in the evening, the couple had to make a last-minute decision to move the entire celebration indoors. However, the bride had such a positive attitude and grace in handling the situation that you would never have known what the initial plan was, and the day was still filled with joy and love.
One of the highlights of the day was the bridesmaids' creative idea to wear matching flannel shirts over their dresses. Originally planned for the campfire reception, this cozy and rustic touch added a unique charm to the wedding party's attire. Though the reception had to be moved indoors, this small detail brought a touch of the outdoors inside, capturing the couple's original vision.
Candace, a little mischievous at heart, decided to surprise Corey with a "fake first look." In a hilarious twist, Corey's brother dressed up as the bride, completely fooling Corey. The lighthearted prank added a playful and memorable moment to the day, creating laughter and joy amongst the bridal party as they all gathered outside to watch. Obviously! But unfortunately the bride wasn't able to witness her own genius mastermind as she couldn't risk being seen by Corey before the actual first look.
The wedding ceremony itself was a moving and heartfelt affair. Candace daddy walked her up the isle and gave her to her new husband. An old friend of mine gave the wedding sermon and it was so good to hear him preach again. After exchanging their vows, and literally tying the knot with the three strand cord that shall never be broken, the parents and bridal party gathered around the couple, offering prayers and blessings for their new journey together. This intimate moment added an emotional touch to the union of Corey and Candace. I love this tradition of gathering around a couple and blessing them with prayers and empowering them on this new journey and I wouldn't complain if all my couples did this. It's so beautiful to capture.
Despite the last-minute change of plans, the indoor reception was nothing short of beautiful. String lights and candles illuminated the space, creating a warm and romantic ambiance. The couple and their guests adapted seamlessly, enjoying the cozy atmosphere that the indoor setting provided. It was evident as the guests enjoyed their dinner the joy everyone felt that the two love birds were finally married.
As the celebration unfolded, the couple and their loved ones found unique ways to make lasting memories. Roasting marshmallows over candles, a creative alternative to the campfire, added a touch of nostalgia and warmth to the evening. The cake cutting ceremony was filled with love and laughter, as cake was smashed into faces and then lovingly wiped off, and the open mic session provided hilarious and heartfelt moments that will be cherished for years to come.
A highlight for me was when Candace sister shared how she licked every piece of chicken one day while packing a lunch for Candace, needless to say once the confession was made this girl never packed another lunch for her sister ever again!
Corey and Candace's wedding day was a testament to their love, and the unwavering support of their family and friends. Despite the weather challenges, their wedding was a truly unforgettable occasion. From the unique bridesmaids' attire to the surprise "fake first look," and the heartfelt ceremony to the indoor reception's charm, every detail added its own touch of magic. Corey and Candace's wedding day will forever be remembered as a beautiful celebration of love, laughter, and the ability to make the best of any situation.
